Twenty-Two Woo Hoo!

Baby, fetus at 22 weeks - BabyCenter

Baby Girl's Stats:

At 11 inches (the length of a spaghetti squash) and almost 1 pound, your baby is starting to look like a miniature newborn. His lips, eyelids, and eyebrows are becoming more distinct, and he's even developing tiny tooth buds beneath his gums. His eyes have formed, but his irises (the colored part of the eye) still lack pigment. If you could see inside your womb, you'd be able to spot the fine hair (lanugo) that covers his body and the deep wrinkles on his skin, which he'll sport until he adds a padding of fat to fill them in. Inside his belly, his pancreas — essential for the production of some important hormones — is developing steadily.

Mommy's Stats:
How far along?: 22 weeks, 1 day
Weight gain/loss: midwife said right now it should be about 5lbs...and I'm "right in that range"...however...remember they've only been seeing me since I graduated from the RE @ 12 weeks...so...5 or less lbs since then I guess.  ::sigh::
Symptoms:  feeling fairly good, except some pressure "down there" & every once in a while little girl is in a very uncomfortable position.  Otherwise, I'm blessed to be feeling better.
Maternity clothes?: oh yeah
Stretch marks?: no!  Thank you genetics!
Sleep:  pretty well.  Little girl wakes me up around 4 or 5 moving, I pee, but then I fall right back asleep.
Best moment this week:  hmmm...been so wrapped up with life and the holidays there aren't too many "baby" moments to speak of.  It was fun to see Mike's family now that I'm "out" being pregnant.  Oh...here's a good one...my students gave me a baby shower & got me a cake and gifts.   I was touched!  I mean, they are HS kids for Gods sake.  I don't even get xmas gifts...lol.
Food cravings: really, nothing these days.  I like it all right now, except chicken ::gag::
Gender:  still believing it's a girl...but we plan to do a 3D/4D u/s after we recover financially from the holidays to confirm.
Belly button in or out?: in, but belly ring is getting uncomfortable
Movement?: lots and lots.  She's feisty like her mommy!
Signs of Labor: thank God no
What I miss?: during the holidays with lots of family and parties...I miss alcohol!!!  A lot!
What I'm looking forward to:  NBR:  watching Ty open gifts this year.  He really "gets it" and I'm excited to see his face!
Weekly Wisdom: girl, if you feel good enough to lift and run...do it!  It's you're body, and you know when you need to slow down or stop.  Get to that gym and start feeling like yourself again.
Weekly WTF: peed in my pants twice this week after sneezing...damn...hate that pregnancy symptom!
Milestones: got u/s results...and everything is perfect!  I'm so relieved!

Note:  I'll post pictures of the cake from my students later.  I'm exhausted.
